It’s not easy to write a newsletter, and obviously you want people to read it! Not only because it’s time consuming to write one, but also because it’s one way to drive new leads to your business.
With that in mind, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫?
Most of the time, there is a pop-up appearing a few seconds after you arrive on a website. I don’t know for you, but 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫.
I would subscribe to a newsletter 𝐢𝐟 𝐈’𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞. In my case, I want to learn something from you: 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳, 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥, …!
Misfits Market cleverly introduces its newsletter.
First, the message “𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫…” 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 because 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (just before the footer).
Then, they state 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞, so 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨.
Last but not least, I also like the call-to-action button “𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧”, because it’s way 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 “𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰”. “Join the fun” implies that you will join a community of very funny people (and who doesn’t want to be part of that?).
Nevertheless, I would have precised 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. Because, it’s something that matters to me. I don’t want to be spammed. Otherwise, ciao!
I hope this has given you some ideas to enhance your newsletter!
